DetailsCommissioned by Fletcher Mitchell and the City of Greater Dandenong Band, 'Freefall' is inspired by Red Bull Stratos, the 2012 project where Felix Baumgartner broke the world record for the highest altitude freefall jump. Using a helium balloon to reach an altitude of nearly 39,000 m above the ground, Felix's freefall back to Earth took about 10 minutes, in which he broke the sound barrier during his descent.
Band accompaniment is C Grade (3rd Section) standard, and Euphonium Soloist is A Grade (1st Section and higher) standard. Duration - circa 8 min |
